A Rotherham-based solicitors has become one of the latest companies to be recognised with Investors in People status, thanks to help and support from Business Link South Yorkshire.

Harthills Solicitors currently employs 24 people and decided to undertake an Investors in People programme to benchmark the business against the industry standard and to show that the staff within the organisation are highly valued and appreciated.

"Investors in People is a real asset to a company such as Harthills;
fulfilling employees' potential means that the company can run more
efficiently," explained a spokesperson from Business Link South Yorkshire. "Harthills brought in consultants to help deliver and provide support to gain the Investors in People standard."

The company approached Business Link South Yorkshire who provided assistance in gaining funding from a Department for Trade and Industry Scheme aimed at encouraging small businesses to invest in their workforce.

"Our clients are mainly from the legal aid sector which means that a certain standard needs to be maintained from a legal point of view. We wanted to take this further by incorporating Investors in People into the general running of the business," said Irene Brown, Practice Manager at Harthills Solicitors. "Business Link South Yorkshire was excellent in providing us with valuable support and advice throughout the process of Investors in People accreditation from legal consultants Moffat McEwan."
