Morrish & Co sees benefits of Legal Challenge, a special initiative for the legal sector that is backed by Business Link for West Yorkshire.
Practice Manager Ken Cromar said: "The management of the business has improved because Moffat McEwan organised management development workshops and specific training for supervisors. We now intend to build on our achievements, develop the practice and make excellence our standard."
Head of Employment Rights Paul Scholey said: "We sought Business Link's help when we decided to go for the Investors in People standard and the support from their advisers has been first class. They helped us to finance specialist legal consultants Moffat McEwan who have guided us through the process to achieve both Investors in People and Lexcel. Jean Hill, Moffat McEwan's lead consultant, met with us regularly to co-ordinate the work, as did the Business Link adviser."
"We have recently gained a major national Trade Union as a client and I believe this win can be directly attributed to the two third party accreditations."
Practice Manager Ken Cromar added: "We needed to have a better-trained and more motivated workforce and were keen to maximise our training budget. We saw benefits immediately because, by rationalising, the training money was saved. Everyone in the firm was involved so morale improved no end and the assessors were very complimentary about our people and how we'd implemented both programmes."
"We are now exploiting the fact that our procedures have been endorsed by a third-party to win new business. We are also able to manage 'risk' better because we are confident that everyone is doing the right thing all the time and this has allowed us to save money on our indemnity insurance premiums, which for lawyers are very substantial."
